Summary:
This board book is an amazing introduction to those teeny tiny little buggers known as bacteria, and how antibiotics help to fight infections in our bodies. It was such a treat to hear about author Cara Florance’s journey to becoming an author from her interview with Ale on our most recent episode of Picture Books and Justice!
I love the way this series breaks down complex topics and explains them in a way that anthropomorphizes the tiny living creatures that reside in our bodies to make up our microbiomes. I like that the illustrations show the actual shapes of the different bacteria to help distinguish them! Definitely a worthy addition to a bookshelf, and perfect for a wide range of ages. Stay tuned for more reviews of Cara’s books, because she’s written beautifully on a multitude of STEM topics for kids!
