Summary: This activity book is a really cool way to involve STEM activities with imagination and art. Creator Mia Underwood makes whimsical Nordic-inspired underwater creatures wearing adorable hats that take the reader on a journey that emphasizes caring for the ocean. Creativity and sustainability are a winning pair in my book!
There are messages to decode, stickers to use, and scenes to color & create. I loved activity books as a kid, and was completely obsessed with the ocean. This is something I would have cherished on a road trip. I love the information that talks about environmental sustainability, the threat of microplastics on oceanic ecosystems, and designing your own ocean-cleanup device for litter. There is so much jam-packed into this beautiful activity book, it would be a wonderful gift for kids. I like that there are a wide array of activities, making it useful for a variety of ages and the ability to stick around for awhile and be completed over a long period of time.
