Tea Parties

summary

I’m so excited for this month’s Fiction Feast! I decided to pair a fiction with a nonfiction book dedicated to a childhood favorite, the tea party. An excuse to make cider donuts and scones? Sign me up!

Mr. Pumpkin’s Tea Party is a book about the type of tea that I would like to host. A little spooky, a little counting, a whole lot of outdoor Halloween tea party fun! The attendees are spooky characters and bring treats to share with everyone. I can see this being an adorable story to read and recreate in the classroom, at home, or with a group of friends!

Teatime Around the World is an adorable nonfiction book all about how folks in different parts of the world drink tea. The illustrations are beautiful, and different facts about how tea is taken around the globe will delight and inspire readers to step outside of their hot beverage habits and check out other methods of enjoying their favorite drink. Personally, when I found the bags of bubble tea mix and tapioca pearls at my local Asian grocery, life got so much tastier without having to leave home.

These books were both sent by the publishers, but all opinions are my own! Mr Pumpkin’s Tea Party was published by Blue Manatee Press and Teatime Around the World was published by Greystone Kids. Make sure you check out #TheFictionFeast hashtag on IG and see all of the other amazing creations that participants have made!
