This sweet rhyming story doesn’t follow a particular family in general, but it’s an ode to all people that wish to impart a love of reading onto the children in their life. It’s fully bilingual in Spanish and English and encourages readers to read for themselves, and also build bookcases for others as well!

Mii maanda ezhi-gkendmaanh This is How I Know is a beautiful bilingual book with colorful illustrations and a plethora of Anishinaabe knowledge about the seasons and nature. The story follows a child and her grandmother as they take walks, enjoy time outdoors, and forage for different foods throughout the year.

Mi Casa is My Home is the perfect story to celebrate Latinx & Hispanic Heritage Month because of the way it exudes joy and the way that Lucía warmly invites the reader into her home to celebrate con ella familia.

This is a very sweet and simple story. Awâsis remains positive and wants to solve the problem of having no bannock by taking responsibility to fix it herself.  The book introduces a lot of great introductory Cree vocabulary words and has a pronunciation guide in the back!
